Metered dimensions

Each request records input, output, and cached tokens together with model, endpoint, timestamps, status, amount, and request ID. Pricing is versioned for historical traceability.

Reservation and settlement

The platform reserves a maximum estimated amount before the upstream request and settles actual usage afterward.

• Successful requests settle actual tokens.
• Cancelled or interrupted streams settle tokens already generated.
• Uncertain usage stays in reconciliation instead of releasing the reservation.
• Sub-cent charges accumulate by user and service until a whole cent can be posted.

Source of truth

The EcoToken data plane meters and prices model usage. The EcoPhase balance and immutable ledger are authoritative. The console shows final actual spend, not an upstream reference cost.

Keep the request_id when investigating a discrepancy. Administrators can use it to reconcile metering, reservation, settlement, and ledger events.
